Mexican Institute of Sound Concert Dates and Tickets
Get ready for Camilo Lara, the mastermind behind the Mexican Institute of Sound. Known for blending cumbia with sharp electronic production and his work on the film Coco, he is returning to the stage.
The Mexican Institute of Sound tour, officially named Ruido Tovar, begins July 27, 2026. It will visit the United States and the UK. Regular stops include major cities like San Diego, Seattle, and London.
Sharing the stage on select dates are Meridian Brothers and DJ Gypsy Box. Separately from regular shows, catch their festival appearances at PortAmérica and Pickathon.

Mexican Institute of Sound (Camilo Lara) is an electronic alternative project born in Mexico City in 2004. Its sound fuses cumbia, mariachi, dub, hip-hop, cha-cha-cha and Mexican folk with electronic beats. Hits include "El Micrófono", "Es Toy", "Jálale" and “Vamos”. Latest studio album: Distrito Federal (2021). Recent single: "Cumbia fantasía" (2026). Lara has earned a Grammy and multiple Latin Grammy nominations; known for film/TV scores (Coco, Narcos: México), iconic remixes and collaborations with Cuco, Sly & Robbie and Graham Coxon.
